Geography Local Explorer Community Service Mulawarman University at SMA Negeri 10 Samarinda

SAMARINDA, Wednesday, September 2, 2026. The Geography Education Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Mulawarman University (Unmul), has once again demonstrated its tangible commitment to education through a community service initiative. Centered on the theme "Local Geography Explorers," the event was held interactively at SMA Negeri 10 Samarinda. The program was specifically designed to bridge geographical concepts with the realities of the local environment, while simultaneously fostering spatial awareness and an appreciation for the potential of the East Kalimantan region among high school students.

The event, which was met with great enthusiasm by the school, featured a variety of creative and engaging educational sessions. Lecturers and students from the Unmul Geography Education program invited students from SMA Negeri 10 Samarinda to explore geographical phenomena in their surroundings—ranging from disaster mitigation based on local wisdom to the use of simple mapping technologies.
