History

The Geography Education Study Program is a relatively new program managed by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Mulawarman University. This program falls under the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education (FMIPA). The initiation of the Geography Education Study Program began in 2011, initially named Physics Education with a concentration in Geography Education (Bachelor's level), where its administration was still merged with the Physics Study Program. In 2014, the Physics Education Program with a concentration in Geography Education officially transformed into the Geography Education Study Program. This change aligns with the decision of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 528/E/O/2022 dated October 17, 2014 regarding the licensing of undergraduate programs at Mulawarman University in Samarinda.
